Meet Maureen Schlosser

I was educated in private schools in Brooklyn, NY. My first job was with NY Blue Cross. I did mostly clerical work and was with them for about 4 years.

In 1975, my husband was transferred to NC with Western Electric and in 1976 I started working for James R Phillips as an underwriter for automobile insurance. In 1980, I moved from there to a property and casualty agency where I obtained my P&C license.

My career with ABCO began in 1982. In the beginning, we did mostly group insurance. I handled proposals and enrollment of new groups. In 1983, I got my Life and Health License. In the years that followed, ABCO 100 became a specialist in student insurance for colleges and international travelers. My specialty became and still is the international insurance market. In addition, I handle many benefit and claims questions for our colleges.

I enjoy working in insurance because each day is so different, involving many challenges. Now that we are a part of Group U.S., I look forward to even more diversity and challenge and am very pleased to have new resources available to help us provide the best possible service.
